On the 24th, Kim posted on his social network service (SNS), "Lee Jae-myung's campaign filed complaints last September against our party's floor leader and others who raised the Daejang-dong suspicions for violations of the Public Official Election Act. At the same time, they raised their voices demanding the truth be revealed," he said.
As Kim mentioned, on September 19 of last year, Lee Jae-myung's then-presidential campaign filed a complaint with the prosecution against Kim Ki-hyun, the floor leader who raised the Daejang-dong suspicions, Yoon Chang-hyun, a People Power Party lawmaker, and Jang Ki-pyo, the party committee chairman for Gimhae-eul, Gyeongnam, on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Kim said, "The investigation proceeded based on that complaint, and just as the flow of illicit money was about to be revealed, suddenly they call it retaliatory or political investigation," adding, "Does that mean the complainant is conducting political retaliation?"
He continued, "Yoo Dong-gyu testified that he gave illicit money to Kim Yong, deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute, and there is even physical evidence supporting this. If they do not search the office of the bribe deliverer, then where else would they search?" He pointed out, "If they say there is no need to conduct a search because everything has already been cleaned up, does that mean that in the future, if evidence is destroyed, search warrants should not be executed?"
Meanwhile, on the same day, the opposition party held a condemnation press conference and a placard protest in front of the Presidential Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, regarding the search and seizure of the Democratic Research Institute.
