The fire resulted in the death of 500 piglets, and one building (160㎡) made of sandwich panels was completely burned, causing property damage estimated at approximately 78.4 million KRW (according to the fire department). The fire was extinguished in about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, believing it started due to overheating of the heating device inside the pigsty.
