Mokpo City Council Holds Emergency Meeting on Bus Union Strike Measures

On that day, the city executive branch (Transportation Administration Division) reported on the suspension of city bus operations due to the bus union strike and the progress of emergency bus transportation measures, and time was taken to confirm the executive branch's future response plans.
The Mokpo City Council pointed out that today's bus union strike is a repeated vicious cycle caused by the harms of monopoly and criticized the executive branch for its lack of response. Furthermore, it urged the executive branch to strongly respond to the bus union strike that threatens citizens' transportation rights and livelihoods.
In addition, once the results of the "Study on the Comprehensive Reform of Mokpo City Bus Route System and Implementation Plan for the Semi-Public Operation System" are released, all measures for the rational operation of city buses, including route reorganization and strengthening financial soundness, will be reviewed to normalize city bus operations and make the best efforts to prevent repeated inconvenience to citizens.
