Shinhan Investment Corp. Invests 12.5 Billion KRW in US Autonomous Driving Solution Developer
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Shinhan Investment Corp. announced on the 20th that it has invested 12.5 billion KRW in Phantom AI, a U.S.-based autonomous driving vision solution developer.
The investment was made through the 'Won Shinhan Global New Technology Investment Fund No. 3,' established as a General Partner (GP). Phantom AI is a camera vision solution developer founded in the U.S. in 2016 by CEO Jo Hyung-ki, an early developer of Tesla Autopilot, and Lee Chan-gyu, a former Hyundai Motor advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) developer.
Since its establishment, Phantom AI has been mass-producing and developing high-performance advanced driver assistance system solutions in collaboration with numerous global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and vendors.

Meanwhile, Shinhan Investment Corp. is comprehensively investing in high value-added technology sectors that are leading innovation in the global next-generation mobility ecosystem. This year alone, alongside Phantom AI, it has completed three investments in the mobility sector, including Ascend Elements, a U.S. company specializing in recycled battery materials and eco-friendly cathode manufacturing, and Nexcion, a UK-based silicon anode material manufacturer.
