Jangseong-gun's 'Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival' Concludes Successfully with 430,000 Visitors
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, recorded 430,000 visitors over the 9 days of the Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival held from the 8th to the 16th.
According to the county on the 20th, the festival greatly contributed to residents' income generation, with combined sales from local restaurants, simple food booths, and the direct agricultural products market exceeding 550 million won.
The Autumn Flower Festival captivated visitors with a colorful display of autumn flowers such as zinnias, globe amaranths, cosmos, and pink muhly.
The Flower Scent Garden, Jangseong Autumn Garden, and Story Flower Garden, created intermittently along the flower paths, received high praise for their sophisticated landscaping. Near the Cultural Bridge to Seosam Bridge, pink muhly and pampas grass were abundantly planted, adding an exotic touch.
Especially, the beautiful night scenery was the highlight of this festival. Jangseong-gun installed ‘Gate of Light,’ ‘Four Seasons of Chukryeong,’ ‘Mir’s Library,’ and ‘Wave Gate’ near the Flower Tunnel.
The ‘Gate of Light’ at the park entrance was decorated with lasers, optical fibers, and LED flowers, creating a fantastic color experience.
‘Four Seasons of Chukryeong’ beautifully portrayed the four seasons of Chukryeongsan, famous for being the largest cypress forest plantation in Korea, with stunning lighting.
‘Mir’s Library’ conveyed a unique impression by displaying Jangseong’s scenery through video inside a book-shaped sculpture. The ‘Wave Gate’ flaunted a dazzling charm designed with holograms and lasers.
Meanwhile, among those who came to enjoy the night view of Hwangryonggang, the nighttime lighting of Hwangryonggang Waterfall, operating until 10 p.m., the mist fountain, and the moon-shaped floating boat on the water were also popular.
The ‘Moonlight Concert’ held every evening, along with the abundant food offered at local restaurants, simple food booths, and the food court, were also factors in the festival’s popularity.
The county operated a ‘communal dining system’ by setting up a tent in the middle of the festival site and placing hundreds of tables.
During the festival period, local restaurants recorded sales of 410 million won, and simple food booths made 80 million won, showing good results.
The direct agricultural products market also achieved sales of 63 million won, resulting in total revenue exceeding 550 million won generated through the festival.
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, “The successful revival of the ‘Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival’ after three years was thanks to the participating residents and public officials who carried out the event diligently and operated it faithfully,” adding, “Next year, we will present an even more enjoyable and beautiful autumn flower festival.”
