[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Samsung Electronics announced on the afternoon of the 18th that Lee Jaeseung, President of the Home Appliance Business Division, has tendered his resignation due to personal reasons.
Samsung Electronics stated, "As President Lee has tendered his resignation due to personal reasons, Han Jonghee, the current CEO and Head of the DX (Device Experience) Division, has been concurrently appointed as the new head of the Home Appliance Business Division."
The specific reasons for the resignation were not disclosed. However, President Lee attended the 'Tech Forum 2022' held by Samsung Electronics in Silicon Valley, USA, until the 16th (local time), where he engaged with executive-level external talents and discussed future innovative technologies in the IT industry.
There have been unconfirmed speculative rumors within the industry suggesting that President Lee might have health issues. An industry insider stated, "He has tendered his resignation, and there is no particular reason. As far as I know, it is not related to health problems."
