National Library of Korea to Host 'Overseas Korean Studies Librarians Workshop' from 17th to 21st
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Library of Korea will hold the "2022 Overseas Korean Studies Librarians Workshop" from the 17th to the 21st.
The workshop, held face-to-face for the first time in three years, is designed to provide systematic information on Korean materials, share experiences, and build human networks for Korean studies librarians working overseas. This year, 20 participants from six countries including Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, and the Philippines will attend.
The workshop will include lectures on ▲ Korea's ancient printing culture and methods for identifying old book editions ▲ methods for building bibliographies of old documents and an introduction to the Comprehensive Bibliography of Korean Old Documents ▲ cases of big data collection and analysis utilization in libraries. There will also be in-depth discussions through presentations on Korean studies materials and current status cases by participants to foster mutual cooperation.
On the 18th, the first annual meeting between domestic and international Korean studies librarian communities will be held. The International Network for Korean Studies Librarians (INKSLIB), the Committee on Korean Materials (CKM) in North America, and the European Network of Korean Resources Specialists (ENKRS) will participate to discuss ways to cooperate among communities.
