View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Machinery Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Son Dong-yeon, hereinafter referred to as KMIPA) announced that the '2022 Korea Industry Grand Exhibition (DTon)' opened on the 18th at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Ilsan, starting a four-day schedule.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by KMIPA, this exhibition, under the slogan 'Meeting with Future Technology,' showcases the digital transformation of the machinery industry. At the offline exhibition hall, companies participating in five specialized fields, including digital manufacturing equipment, welcome visitors, and for domestic and international buyers who cannot visit the exhibition hall, a metaverse exhibition hall is also operated simultaneously. Various side events such as export consultation meetings and conferences will be held during the exhibition period.
Awards for contributions to the development of the machinery, robotics, and aerospace industries were also presented. Since 1984, these awards have been given to boost the morale of the machinery industry, which has been dedicated to securing world-class technology in key capital goods sectors with high import dependence. This year, awards were presented to 41 individuals and 14 companies who contributed to the development of the machinery industry.

The Gold Tower Industrial Medal was awarded to CEO Ki Deok of Deokil Industry, who contributed to quality improvement and price competitiveness by successfully domesticating the vehicle seat position adjustment device and fostered a global small giant company through active R&D investment and business diversification. The Silver Tower Industrial Medal was awarded to CEO Han Hyung-su of Hansmotrol. The Industrial Merit Award was given to three recipients: CEO Ko Hyun-guk of Jeonjin Construction Robot, CEO Lim Guk-geon of Geonyeong Tech, and CEO Jeon Young-chan of PK Valve & Engineering.
