On the 18th, Jeong posted on his social network service (SNS), "The mainstream of the (Democratic) Party still occasionally hints that North Korea is an independent regime established by Kim Il-sung through anti-Japanese armed struggle, and that the Republic of Korea is a country founded by pro-Japanese puppet regimes."
He said, "Viewing South Korea, ranked in the top 10 globally in economic and national power, as a 'colony of the U.S. imperialists' and a 'henchman of Japanese imperialism' is the Democratic Party's self-deprecating historical view," adding, "We must properly overcome this for South Korea to move toward the future."
Jeong emphasized, "The 586 generation of the Democratic Party overthrew the Chun Doo-hwan regime in their twenties. They were the driving force of democratization," but added, "That was 40 years ago, and insisting that the pro-North Korea and independent Juche ideas held then are still correct is nothing more than a modern form of reactionary conservatism."

Regarding the previous administration, he raised his voice, saying, "Why did former President Moon Jae-in never once raise his head against the Kim siblings, Kim Jong-un and Kim Yo-jong, who hurled insults at him throughout his five years in office?" He criticized, "The Moon administration's failures?including submissive low-profile diplomacy toward North Korea, pro-China deferential foreign policy, income-led growth, housing policies that caused apartment prices to skyrocket, and the nuclear phase-out policy?all stem from outdated leftist ideologies."
