[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City is establishing a men's soccer team with local ties.
The city recently signed a hometown agreement with Ace Park Sejong Football Club Co., Ltd. and announced on the 18th that it plans to establish the men's soccer team "Sejong Vaness FC" aiming for early next year.
The establishment of the soccer team was formalized after deciding to create a men's soccer team in consultation with the city sports council and signing the hometown agreement.
Ace Park Sejong Football Club, the operating corporation of Sejong Vaness FC, is a company specializing in sports entertainment, including operating various sports centers, selling sports equipment, managing soccer teams, and sports agency services.
The headquarters is located in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, and the secretariat is located on Naseong-ro, Sejong.
The city plans to use Sejong Central Park Soccer Field and Citizen Stadium Soccer Field as exclusive stadiums once the soccer team is established.
The club will cover operating expenses with its own revenue next year, and from 2024, in addition to the club's own income such as donations, the city plans to support operating expenses up to 200 million KRW annually.
The city will receive final approval for Sejong Vaness FC's participation in the K4 League through an on-site inspection by the Korea Football Association by the end of this month and plans to hold team formation and an inauguration ceremony early next year.
Currently, the Korea Football Association conditionally approves the establishment of a youth team (high school level) when founding a men's team in the K4 League.
Based on this, the city plans to enable the development of male soccer players linked from elementary, middle, high school, university, to general levels.
Meanwhile, in Sejong, the women's soccer team "Sports Toto" is active as a hometown agreement team. This team participates in the National Sports Festival and the WK League, contributing to the development of women's soccer in Sejong.
