Enhancing Information Asset Protection Capabilities... Daegu University Information Security Gifted Education Center Hosts Hacking Attack 'Idea Contest'
72 Regional Middle and High School Students Including Gyeongbuk Software High School Participate
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu University Information Security Gifted Education Center, together with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, held the "2nd Hacking Email Attack Idea Competition" to prevent ransomware infection and information leakage.
The competition, held on the 15th at Daegu University's College of Information and Communication, was organized to enhance the proactive hacking response capabilities of public institutions and strengthen the protection of information assets by preparing against phishing, one of the hacking methods.
A total of 72 middle and high school students studying at Gyeongbuk Software High School and Daegu University Information Security Gifted Education Center participated in the competition, competing in their ability to create hacking attack emails.
The participating students learned how to respond to hacking emails and raised awareness of the importance of information security by discovering ideas for attack hacking emails that embed malicious code to leak information or disrupt work.

Kim Chang-hoon, director of Daegu University Information Security Gifted Education Center, said, "I hope this will serve as an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of information security against increasingly sophisticated hacking attacks," and added, "Daegu University Information Security Gifted Education Center will continue to fulfill its role as a hub for nurturing cybersecurity talent."
