Earlier, on the 15th, a fire broke out at the SK C&C Center (SK Pangyo Campus) in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do, where Kakao's servers are located. As a result, the power to Kakao's servers was cut off, causing multiple services to be suspended, including KakaoTalk, the nation's messenger app, as well as KakaoMap, KakaoPay, Kakao Mobility, and Kakao Games. However, KakaoBank had established a dedicated financial data center outside Pangyo, so except for some services related to Kakao such as simple transfers and group accounts, most services operated normally.
