Sacheon-si Conducts Guidance and Inspection of Wastewater Discharge Facilities to Prevent Water Pollution in Public Water Areas
Prevention of Illegal Acts Such as Unauthorized Discharge of Environmental Pollutants
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, is launching an inspection of 'Public Water Area Water Pollution Prevention Wastewater Discharge Facilities' to prevent illegal activities such as unauthorized discharge of environmental pollutants.
The city has formed an inspection team consisting of two members, including the Water Quality Conservation Team leader, and plans to inspect 12 wastewater discharge facilities within the jurisdiction from October 31 to November 4 for environmental pollution violations.
The inspection team will focus on verifying the installation of unreported (unpermitted) wastewater discharge facilities, checking the normal operation of wastewater discharge and prevention facilities, and managing pollutants such as workplace floor dust and cutting fluids.
If violations of environmental laws are found, appropriate measures such as prosecution and administrative actions will be taken in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

A city official stated, "This inspection is conducted to identify businesses that intentionally and habitually discharge wastewater without authorization," adding, "We will thoroughly guide and inspect to prevent environmental pollution incidents."
