KCCI Partners with Academia to Promote New Entrepreneurship Spirit

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] The business community has decided to collaborate with academia to systematically and efficiently practice the 'New Entrepreneurship' that goes beyond profit and job creation to participate in solving social problems.
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration announced on the 17th that they signed a "Memorandum of Understanding to Promote New Entrepreneurship and Raise Awareness of Stakeholder-Centered Management" at the 1st Korea CEO Roundtable held at the KCCI International Conference Hall during the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration Fall Conference.
Through this MOU, KCCI and the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration plan to academically support the five practical propositions of the New Entrepreneurship Corporate Declaration announced on May 24 this year, including ▲sustainable innovation and growth ▲respect for external stakeholders ▲improvement of corporate culture ▲eco-friendly management ▲growth together with local communities, and share related survey and research results to support companies in practicing New Entrepreneurship.
They also agreed to cooperate on ▲research and joint project development such as joint challenge tasks for practicing New Entrepreneurship ▲joint promotion of surveys, education, training, and internships ▲research and survey activities to reflect in national policies.
Meanwhile, at the academic conference hosted by the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration and sponsored by KCCI, topics presenting future directions for corporate management, including 'policy-making for New Entrepreneurship,' were discussed. In particular, the "Korea CEO Roundtable," an industry-academia council within the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, has been steadily conducting research to raise awareness of stakeholder-centered management, and through this first meeting, signed the MOU concerning New Entrepreneurship.

KCCI launched the New Entrepreneurship Council (ERT) through the New Entrepreneurship proclamation ceremony on May 24 this year and took the first step in practicing New Entrepreneurship by conducting joint challenges contributing to environmental and local community issues. Since the proclamation ceremony, relay proclamation ceremonies have been held at nine chambers of commerce in the Gyeongnam region including Changwon, as well as regional chambers in Daejeon and Goyang, and participation companies continue to expand with organizations such as the Korea Software Industry Association and the Gyeongnam Venture Business Association joining with their member companies to participate in New Entrepreneurship.
