[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum, in collaboration with Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), will hold the October Science School at 7 p.m. on the 19th in the Imagination Hall of the National Gwangju Science Museum.
This lecture, titled "How to Store and Utilize Discarded Electricity," will invite Professor Park Chan-ho from the GIST Graduate School of Energy Convergence to introduce methods of storing discarded electricity, how hydrogen can be produced, and how electricity can be generated from hydrogen and utilized.
Professor Park Chan-ho earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from KAIST, served as a master at Samsung Electronics Comprehensive Technology Institute, and as an executive director at Samsung SDI Battery Research Center. He is currently a professor at the GIST Graduate School of Energy Convergence. His main research areas include nano porous carbon and metal oxide material catalysts, low-cost fuel cell materials and electrode development for hydrogen electric vehicles, and catalyst and electrode development for water electrolysis using renewable energy.
The 2022 Science School allows on-site admission after online advance reservation on a first-come, first-served basis for 150 people, and anyone from children to adults can participate free of charge.
Additionally, various events will be held during the Science School. Participants who attend lectures each month and collect more than seven stamps can receive special souvenirs.
