View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] The National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee has selected Lee Hae-jin, Naver's Global Investment Officer (GIO), as a witness for the national audit.
According to the National Assembly on the 14th, the Political Affairs Committee additionally selected a total of 10 people, including GIO Lee, as witnesses for the audit. The attendance request date is the comprehensive audit of the non-financial sector on the 21st.
The reason for selecting the witness is to question the detailed execution status of the small and medium-sized enterprise mutual growth support project among the implementation matters of Naver's consent decree. The consent decree is a system in which, when a business operator restores the problem by itself or presents a remedy plan for damages to consumers or trading partners, the Fair Trade Commission accepts it and closes the case without investigating illegality. In 2014, Naver and Kakao were subject to the consent decree system.
People Power Party lawmaker Choi Seung-jae has pointed out that Naver did not properly fulfill the implementation despite receiving a pardon called the consent decree. Accordingly, detailed execution status will be examined in the remaining comprehensive audit.

GIO Lee was also selected as a witness for the national audit last year and appeared. Along with Kim Beom-su, head of Kakao Future Initiative Center, a 'platform audit' was conducted, focusing on criticism regarding infringement on local markets and platform fees.
