Gwangju Saranguiyeolmae Signs '4-Party Agreement' for Stable Settlement of Korean-Russian Compatriots
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong · Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) signed a four-party joint agreement with Jeonnam Daily (President Kim Seonnam), Gwangju Volunteer Center (Chairman Kim Jaegyu), and the Korean Village Association (Representative Shin Joya) to ensure the stable settlement of Korean refugees affected by the Ukraine-Russia war.
The signing ceremony took place at the 2nd floor Sharing Culture Hall of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, attended by Kim Seonnam, President of Jeonnam Daily; Kim Jaegyu, Chairman of Gwangju Volunteer Center; Lim Iyeop, Director of Gwangju Volunteer Center; Lee Cheonyeong, Pastor of the Korean Village Association; Kim Jingon, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea; and other officials.
They pledged to actively cooperate by utilizing the expertise of each organization to help the Korean compatriots who have settled in the Gwangju Korean Village to establish themselves stably.
This agreement is expected to greatly assist the Korean residents who settled in the Gwangju Korean Village due to the Ukraine war by providing basic livelihood support, health, education, immigration administrative support services, and other settlement assistance.
Pastor Lee Cheonyeong of the Korean Village Association said, “We are grateful to the representatives of each organization who are helping with the settlement of the Koreans,” and added, “We intend to further develop and promote the Korean Village so that the Korean compatriots can adapt well to Gwangju.”

Kim Jingon, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, stated, “There are still many difficulties until the Korean war refugees settle stably in Gwangju,” and added, “We will strive so that the Koreans and their descendants can proudly and warmly build a community as rightful members of our society.”
