Group Arrested for Assaulting Police Officers Who Responded to a Fight at a Bar...Caught in the Act
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] Men in their 30s were arrested on charges of assaulting police officers who intervened to stop a fight at a bar.
The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 13th that men in their 30s, identified as Mr. A and Mr. B, were arrested on the spot on charges of aggravated obstruction of official duties causing injury and are currently under investigation.
They are accused of assaulting and injuring police officers who responded to a call at a bar in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, around 11:20 p.m. on the 9th.
The suspects were reportedly intoxicated and fighting each other when the police were called by the staff. After the police arrived, the suspects stopped fighting but then assaulted the officers by hitting one on the head with a fist, pushing him down, and climbing on top of him while saying, "You don't seem like police." The officer sustained injuries to his arm and lips.
