DDP Design Store Collaborates with GS25 'GatSaeng Project'... Opens Pop-up Store
Seoul Design Foundation Unveils Design Products to Captivate MZ Generation at DDP
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Design Foundation and GS25 are collaborating to support outstanding young enterprises in Seoul.
On the 13th, the foundation announced that it will hold a pop-up store from October 14 to November 13 on the first floor of the DDP Design Lab, together with ‘Gotseng Planning,’ a team of MZ generation employees from GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail. This event will showcase collaborative products developed with young enterprises.
The foundation and GS25 have joined hands to discover outstanding young enterprises in Seoul, help them open sales channels, and provide promotional support. Accordingly, the two organizations selected five young enterprises located in the DDP Design Store and supported them to create collaborative products together with DDP and Gotseng Planning. The collaborative products born from this effort will be available not only at this pop-up store but also through DDP and GS25’s online and offline channels.
The theme of the pop-up store is ‘Designer’s Workshop.’ It features Gotsengler ‘Kim Neneop’ and his pet fox ‘Mumu-ssi,’ reflecting their worldview. Kim Neneop, a virtual character of Gotseng Planning in his early 20s and a young office worker, was named by combining the most common responses of office workers, ‘ne’ (yes) and ‘nep’ (yep). He represents busy modern people who live diligently but have lost their passion.
At the pop-up store, △collaborative products by young enterprises with DDP and Gotseng Planning △DDP brand products △Gotseng Planning merchandise (goods) will be sold. The young enterprises selected by DDP and Gotseng Planning are △Sesentir (scented candles) △Susukiki (rubber hammers) △Ajjil (design stationery) △Pottery C (ceramic products) △Progominer Lab (memo pads), totaling five companies, each presenting products full of their unique character.
Meanwhile, taking this event as an opportunity, the Seoul Design Foundation and GS25 plan to continue cooperating to realize positive influence through design. The DDP Design Store is a design product sales shop operated for Seoul citizens and tourists visiting Dongdaemun, located on the first floor of the DDP Design Lab with an area of 491.25㎡. Based on the direction of Seoul’s story and modern usage, it showcases a wide range of products from Korea’s representative designers to emerging enterprises.
