Distribution of Stockpiled Quarantine Supplies... Strengthening Biosecurity at Pig Farms
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-chul] As African Swine Fever (ASF) has occurred consecutively at pig farms in Gyeonggi Province, raising concerns about its spread, Hongcheon-gun in Gangwon Province has taken measures to prevent the spread to pigs raised within farms.
On the 12th, Hongcheon-gun announced, "We will support the purchase of a 'tunnel-type vehicle disinfection system' (90 million KRW) capable of disinfecting the sides, underside, and top of vehicles entering pig farms as a subsidy project."
They also plan to strengthen farm quarantine by distributing stockpiled quarantine supplies such as disinfectants, wildlife repellents, footbath disinfectant tanks, and quicklime.
Additionally, the county plans to provide 28 million KRW in livelihood stabilization funds to pig farms affected by ASF outbreaks in the area in August last year and May this year, and 171 million KRW in income stabilization funds to pig farms that suffered losses due to shipment delays.
