Asan Foundation Provides 300 Million KRW for Airfare to 207 Koryoin Fleeing Ukraine War
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Asan Social Welfare Foundation (Chairman Chung Mong-joon, photo) announced on the 12th that it has provided 300 million KRW worth of airline tickets to support the entry of Koryo-saram who fled due to the Ukraine war into South Korea.
Since June, 207 Koryo-saram who escaped from Ukraine have entered South Korea through Poland, Romania, Georgia, and other countries with the support of the Asan Foundation.
With this support, Koryo-saram temporarily residing in neighboring countries around Ukraine to escape the war can now live stably with their families in Korea.
Earlier in March, the Asan Foundation also donated 300 million KRW in relief funds to the Korean Red Cross to support Ukrainian refugees.
