Other Brands Also Equip Samsung Electronics TV Platform 'Tizen'... First Debut in Australia
"Starting with Tizen TV, Expanding Tizen OS to More Countries, Brands, and Products"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] A third-party Tizen TV equipped with Samsung Electronics' TV platform Tizen made its debut in Australia.
On the 10th, Samsung Electronics announced that Australia's 'Tempo' launched a TV applying the open platform Tizen OS at the end of September. Turkey's 'Artmaca' and China's 'HKC' are also scheduled to release TVs equipped with Samsung's TV platform Tizen in Europe and Turkey within this month.
This Tizen TV launch came just one year after Samsung announced the Tizen TV licensing program at the 2021 Samsung Developer Conference (SDC). During this time, Samsung Electronics has collaborated with various companies including content and TV manufacturers as well as SoC and board suppliers to enable the release of third-party Tizen TVs equipped with Tizen OS.
Samsung Electronics operates the Tizen Partner Portal site to actively encourage industry participation and cooperation in the Tizen licensing program, providing multifaceted support such as ▲introduction to the licensing program ▲detailed technical and certification specifications ▲OS porting development guides ▲partner project management.
Currently, Samsung smart TVs equipped with Tizen are used by nearly 200 million consumers across approximately 200 countries worldwide.
