Sudden Gas Leak at Fire Extinguishing Facility... 4 Injured and Dead Including Employees at Changwon Vehicle Parts Factory
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 7:59 a.m. on the 7th, gas leaked at an auto parts factory in Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, resulting in one death.
According to the police, two workers were on duty in the substation at the time, and two factory officials who noticed the accident entered to rescue them.
All four inhaled the gas and collapsed; they were transported to the hospital by responding firefighters. One worker in his 60s died, and the other three sustained minor injuries.
A factory employee stated that the fire alarm went off that day, prompting an inspection, during which a substance presumed to be carbon dioxide suddenly leaked from the fire extinguishing system.
