Korean Air, Incheon~Budapest New Route Launch Event
Operating Boeing 787-9 Once a Week
Scheduled to Operate Twice a Week Starting from the 29th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Korean Air announced on the 4th that it held an inaugural flight ceremony for the new Incheon~Budapest route.
In this regard, Korean Air held the event the day before at Gate 232 of Terminal 2 at Incheon International Airport, attended by Park Yohan, Head of Korean Air's Korea Regional Headquarters, Istv?n S?rk?zy, Ambassador of Hungary to Korea, and officials from Incheon International Airport Corporation. A Boeing 787-9 with 269 seats will be deployed on the Incheon~Budapest route. Starting from the 3rd, the flight departs Incheon Airport every Monday at 11:25 AM and arrives in Budapest at 5:05 PM local time. The return flight departs on Tuesday at 7:15 PM and arrives at Incheon Airport at 12:50 PM the next day. From the 29th of this month, operations will expand to twice a week (Monday/Saturday).
Budapest, the capital of Hungary, boasts deep history and scenery, with many parts of the city designated as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. Additionally, due to the Hungarian government's policies promoting the automotive manufacturing industry and investment, many Korean companies have entered the market, making the city rich in both tourism and business demand.

Korean Air launched cargo flights on the Budapest route in February 2020 to keep pace with the growing air demand to Hungary. With the launch of this new passenger route, the airline plans to strengthen its competitiveness on European routes and further accelerate the development of new markets in Eastern Europe.
