TIPA Launches Green City Initiative with Bicycle Commuting Challenge
ESG Campaign Involving Sejong Citizens and TIPA Executives and Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) is conducting a bicycle commuting challenge together with the citizens of Sejong City.
The Sejong Bicycle Commuting Challenge is an eco-friendly campaign held for Sejong citizens, organized mainly by the Sejong Sustainable Development Council to address environmental issues such as air pollution, which has emerged as an important social issue. TIPA is participating in this year's fourth challenge, which runs for one month from the 22nd of last month, World Car-Free Day, until the 21st of this month.
The bicycle commuting challenge is open 24 hours a day to all Sejong citizens, who can record their cycling distance, mileage called 'Tago Points,' and the number of bicycle uses through the EcoBike application. Especially, since this activity targets the commuting hours when vehicle traffic is dense, users can earn 10 times more Tago Points per kilometer during their set commuting hours.
TIPA plans to have its employees participate in this fourth bicycle commuting challenge and will award the head of the agency's prize to nine outstanding users, including those with the longest cycling distances and the highest accumulation of Tago Points among Sejong citizens.
Additionally, to encourage citizens who do not usually ride bicycles to easily join the cycling activity, a separate prize will be given to the top 50 users with the highest number of uses, regardless of cycling distance or Tago Points earned.
