Indonesia Soccer Stadium Disaster Death Toll Revised from 174 to 125
Indonesian authorities have revised the death toll from a large-scale fatal incident caused by crowd intrusion at a professional soccer match in Indonesia, lowering the number from 174 to 125.
According to Antara News and others on the 2nd, Emil Elestianto Dardak, Vice Governor of East Java Province where the incident occurred, confirmed that the death toll is 125.
He explained that after the police reviewed death records from 10 hospitals, there were cases of duplicate counts as patients were transferred between hospitals, and the revised death toll is 125.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that there were no Korean casualties related to this incident.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on the same day, "The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia contacted Korean community organizations in Surabaya and Malang, nearby areas, by phone and confirmed that there were no Korean nationals affected by the disturbances at the soccer stadium."

It is estimated that about 200 Korean residents live in Malang City, where the professional soccer stadium involved in the incident is located.
