Gwangju Seo-gu to Conduct Facility Safety Inspections Until the 14th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it is conducting safety inspections on 110 key facilities in 7 sectors including construction sites, apartment complexes, and gas facilities during the intensive safety inspection period running until the 14th of next month.
According to the joint inspection results during this intensive safety inspection period, issues that can be addressed on-site will be immediately corrected, and if serious defects or risk factors are found, urgent safety measures such as usage restrictions, demolition, and setting up danger zones will be taken, followed by prompt repairs and reinforcements.
On the 29th, Seo-gu Mayor Kim Yi-gang personally visited a new construction site located in Nongsong-dong and participated in a safety management inspection together with private experts in the architectural field.
At the site, detailed inspections were conducted according to the safety checklist, focusing on safety management plans, compliance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and the appropriateness of safety management for on-site workers.
Seo-gu Mayor Kim Yi-gang said, “Please pay more attention to site management to prevent casualties during work and to avoid safety accidents involving tower cranes, fences, etc. I hope this intensive safety inspection will serve as an opportunity to further raise residents’ safety awareness and realize Seo-gu as a safety-first district.”
