[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] "Our industry is like a rain-fed paddy field. Can farming succeed by just waiting for rain? If it doesn't rain, at least the soil must be turned over so that on rainy days, results can be seen." Jung Young-chae, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, explained the purpose of introducing a new service for overseas IPO brokerage services with these words. Jung added, "Customers (investors) are currently in panic," and "At times like this, we need to find a way and show them the method."
◇Jung Young-chae, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, seeking answers overseas during stock market downturn= Jung Young-chae went on a six-day business trip to the United States and the United Kingdom starting from the 18th. During this trip, Jung signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ClickIPO, a local U.S. IPO subscription platform. The plan is to enable domestic investors to find IPO subscription investment opportunities overseas as well. Although Seohak Ants (Korean investors investing in U.S. stocks) have increased access to U.S. publicly traded stocks, they have had no direct opportunity to participate in U.S. IPO subscriptions. NH Investment & Securities plans to actively communicate and negotiate with financial authorities regarding detailed legal procedures to launch this service from the perspective of securing investment opportunities for investors. Besides cooperation with ClickIPO, Jung also signed an exclusive business agreement with Value Line, a New York-based investment research firm. Jung explained, "This company has over 200 analysts, and even Warren Buffett buys their reports," adding, "This is a measure to provide more specialized and localized research services to domestic investors." NH Investment & Securities will receive reports on U.S. Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and hundreds of major companies from Value Line and provide them to domestic investors. Jung emphasized, "We plan to upload them on our YouTube platform and mobile app Namu Securities, and translate reports on stocks that need more attention," adding, "Even if investors don't make money immediately from that information, we want to help them make good investment decisions."

◇Jung Il-moon, CEO of Korea Investment & Securities, establishing a global IB forward base in the U.S. = Jung Young-chae is not the only securities CEO seeking a breakthrough overseas amid the panic in the stock market. Jung Il-moon, CEO of Korea Investment & Securities, is currently on a business trip to the U.S. Korea Investment & Securities has decided to establish a joint venture specializing in acquisition financing and private loans with the U.S. comprehensive financial company Stifel Financial. The joint venture, 'SF Credit Partners,' which will open locally within the year, is expected to become a foothold accelerating Korea Investment & Securities' global corporate finance (IB) expansion. On the 27th local U.S. time, Korea Investment & Securities signed a contract to establish the joint venture at Stifel's New York office, attended by Kim Nam-gu, Chairman of Korea Financial Group, Jung Il-moon, CEO of Korea Investment & Securities, Ron Kruszewski, Chairman of Stifel, and Victor Nishi, President of Stifel. SF Credit Partners will officially launch within the year and enter the acquisition financing and private loan business in the U.S. market. It plans to focus on the middle-market loan sector (direct loans to mid-sized companies), where participation by global major banks is limited due to legal restrictions. Additionally, it plans to strengthen deal sourcing and product development capabilities to supply investment products such as overseas real estate discovered locally in the U.S. to domestic clients. Previously, Korea Investment & Securities has repeatedly expressed its ambition to become a securities firm providing one-stop financial services by discovering competitive investment products and delivering them directly to domestic customers through its own distribution network. Through strategic partnership with Stifel, Korea Investment & Securities plans to share financial capabilities and expertise of both companies. They aim to explore new business opportunities and collaborations, as well as expand personnel and product exchanges to enhance global competitiveness in various fields such as stock brokerage, IB advisory, and asset management. Jung Il-moon said, "Stifel is the optimal partner for Korea Investment & Securities' entry into the U.S. market," adding, "Collaboration and personnel exchanges will take place across multiple business divisions including capital markets, research, sales and trading, and wealth management (WM)."
