Ryu Jedon, CEO of Lotte Engineering & Construction, Seo Gangseok, Mayor of Songpa District, and Florentijn Hofman, the artist who created the rubber duck, attended and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Artist Hofman said, “My work is about maximizing everyday materials to provide unique enjoyment,” adding, “I want to deliver joy and hope to the Korean people through the returning Rubber Duck.”
This project will also showcase, for the first time in the world, rubber duck friends. Halloween-themed rubber ducks such as Rainbow Duck, Skull Duck, Dracula Duck, and Ghost Duck can be seen at Lotte World Tower and Mall.
Events will also be held. Customers who spend more than 30,000 won within the Tower and Mall can participate in a stamp rally photo zone event. Depending on the number of stamps collected at hidden rubber duck photo zones throughout the Tower and Mall, rubber duck toys, magnets, stickers, and more will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additionally, those who follow Lotte World Tower’s Instagram and upload a rubber duck 인증샷 (certification photo) with the required hashtags will receive a rubber duck balloon on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lotte Duty Free World Tower branch will give away a total of 1,000 limited edition rubber duck eco-bags to customers who spend over $590 on a first-come, first-served basis. Lotte Department Store Jamsil branch will provide rubber duck grip-toks to the first 300 customers who spend over 100,000 won every weekend. Lotte World Tower’s observatory Seoul Sky and Lotte World Aquarium will provide rubber duck covers when printing commemorative photos at photo zones.
