On the 27th, Seoul City announced that it held the '7th Urban Redevelopment Committee' the previous day and approved a revised amendment to the Cheonho-Seongnae Redevelopment Promotion Plan in Gangdong-gu.
With this plan change, an underground public walkway connecting the cultural park within Seongnae 3 District and the Cheonho underground passage will be installed. The existing entrance and stairs of the Cheonho underground passage will be demolished, and a new underground public walkway will be constructed. It will also be connected to the underground transfer parking lot on floors B2 to B7 of Cheonho Station, making transfers between private cars and public transportation more convenient.
The city expects that this will not only make access to the cultural park more convenient but also greatly contribute to revitalizing the surrounding commercial areas such as Cheonho-dong Rodeo Street and Seongnae-dong Jjukkumi Alley through regional connectivity.
Seongnae 3 District, located in Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu, is an area within the Cheonho-Seongnae Redevelopment Promotion Zone where 160 apartment units and 182 officetel rooms are planned to be developed. Construction began in 2020 and is currently underway, including structural work.
