Namwon-si Hosts Consecutive Community Sports Events Including Roller Open Tournament
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, which recently successfully hosted the Jeollabuk-do Residents Sports Festival, continues its momentum by holding a series of large and small community sports competitions.
According to the city on the 26th, following the nationwide Chunhyang Cup Roller Open Tournament held successfully at Namwon Chunhyanggol Sports Park on the 24th, the 8th Namwon Mayor's Cup 3C Billiards Tournament was held on the 25th with enthusiastic participation from billiards enthusiasts.
The nationwide Chunhyang Cup Roller Open Tournament, organized by the Namwon Roller Sports Federation, gathered about 500 roller sports enthusiasts from across the country and was conducted in categories of kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and adult divisions.
The 8th Namwon Mayor's Cup 3C Billiards Tournament, organized by the Namwon Billiards Federation, saw about 400 billiards enthusiasts from the Honam region participating across six billiards halls in Namwon City, showcasing their honed skills to the fullest.
Next month, nationwide competitions in badminton, volleyball, baseball, and other sports are scheduled to be held consecutively, attracting many athletes and tourists to Namwon City, which is expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Mayor Choi Kyung-sik stated, “Not only for athletes but also as a festival and source of vitality for citizens, we will spare no administrative support for hosting sports competitions in the future, and based on this, we will do our best to help Namwon City leap forward as a premier sports luxury city.”
