Since 2019, Kyowon Group has been operating the open innovation platform "Deep Change Startup Prize" to support the growth of promising startups. Over the past three years, it has discovered 43 startups, establishing investment and collaboration systems to maintain a win-win relationship, with a cumulative investment amount of approximately 7.5 billion KRW including co-investments.
This demo day was an event where the 4th batch of startups selected through a contest in April showcased their collaboration achievements and business models with Kyowon Group to attract investment. Notably, this year the event was held in partnership with Home&Shopping, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and Seoul Business Agency to expand investment and strengthen nurturing programs.
At the event, seven 4th batch startups participated: Video Monster (travel video and map information sharing platform), Ilsang-ui Gamdong (location-based childcare cooperative service), V Platform (celebrity e-commerce platform), Eoisacom Company (fashion B2B platform), Mallang Honey (manufacturing and sales of childcare products), Tura (subscription random box), and Xcrew (global travel and activity platform), along with one in-house startup team from Kyowon Group. A total of eight companies introduced their business models and achievements. Exhibition booths were set up outside the venue to provide attendees with opportunities to learn about their business models and visions.
Kyowon Group, along with domestic and international venture investment stakeholders such as Home&Shopping and Shinhan Venture Investment, and Kyowon Group executives and employees participated as judges. After discussions on growth potential, Ilsang-ui Gamdong was selected as the 1st place Deep Change Award winner.
Ilsang-ui Gamdong introduced the childcare connection platform "Link Mom." This service connects parents in need of childcare with caregivers seeking jobs based on neighborhood neighbors. It offers additional care options such as school drop-off and pick-up guidance, childcare, play, and household chores. It received great response for its speed matching feature, which is useful for urgent childcare needs due to sudden overtime or emergencies.
The Miracle Award was given to Mallang Honey, which presented a commerce platform for infant products, and the Home&Shopping Award went to Video Monster, which developed a short-form video production platform.
Kyowon Group confirmed a total investment of 1.7 billion KRW including co-investments for the companies participating in this demo day and awarded prize money of 37 million KRW. Additionally, Kyowon Group plans to continue systematic support such as developing collaboration models with Kyowon Group, corporate promotion, seeking investment opportunities, and business mentoring.
