Boseong-gun Conducts 'On-site Regular Inspection of Commercial Weighing Scales'
Business Site Visits Conducted for 15 Days from October 4 to 25
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will conduct a 15-day regular inspection of 'on-site commercial weighing scales' from October 4 to 25.
The regular inspection of weighing scales is conducted every two years under the "Measurement Act" to ensure fairness in transactions and protect consumer rights. This inspection is being carried out for the first time in four years since 2018 due to COVID-19.
The inspection targets non-automatic commercial scales under 10 tons used in places such as marts, jewelry stores, butcher shops, and restaurants, and the products must have type approval. Household and reference scales without type approval are excluded from the inspection.
The inspection will be conducted as an on-site visit on weekdays (excluding weekends and holidays). The schedule is as follows: from October 4 to 25, visits to workplaces will be conducted over 15 days, starting with Boseong-eup from the 4th to 7th, Beolgyo-eup from the 11th to 17th, Joseong-myeon on the 18th, Miryeok in the morning and Boknae and Mundeok-myeon in the afternoon on the 19th, Ui-eo and Gyeombaek-myeon on the 20th, Nodong and Ungchi on the 21st, Hoecheon-myeon on the 24th, and Deukryang-myeon on the 25th.
A county official stated, "If scales that have not undergone regular inspection are used, fines may be imposed according to relevant laws," and added, "We hope that the relevant businesses will fully participate in the regular inspection to establish order in commercial transactions."
Meanwhile, to prevent omission of workplaces from the regular inspection, businesses that were omitted from the preliminary survey, wish to be inspected, or have acquired new weighing scales since the 2018 inspection can apply at their workplace location by the day before the inspection date of the respective eup/myeon.
