The 25th Gyeongsangnam-do Governor's Natural Conservation Contest
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The 25th Gyeongnam Governor's Natural Protection Contest was held on the 22nd at Samcheonpo Bridge Park in Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam.
The contest was promoted to practice the spirit of the Natural Protection Charter, which was proclaimed in 1978 to spread awareness of natural protection and pass on a clean nature to future generations.
This year, it was held to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the proclamation of the Natural Protection Charter and to activate participation in natural protection activities.
About 1,000 people attended, including Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam, Kim Jin-bu, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, Park Dong-sik, Mayor of Sacheon, Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly members Kim Hyun-cheol and Im Cheol-gyu, members of the Natural Protection Council, related officials, and guests.
The event began with a pre-ceremony performance, followed by the reading of the Natural Protection Charter, commendations for meritorious persons, reading of a resolution, and a globe-shaped placard performance.
In the second part of the contest, 19 teams from the Natural Protection Council participated in coastal area cleanup activities, an environmental Golden Bell quiz contest, and a harmony festival, with the winning team awarded the Governor's Cup and a certificate.

Governor Park said, “Protecting nature is protecting our residents and Gyeongnam,” adding, “We will practice natural protection, strive for a healthy and sustainable environmental conservation, and work together to create a livable natural environment where nature and people can enjoy together.”
