Gwangju University Daedongje 'Heungio-reum Festival' Held on 27-28
Various Events Including Cafe with University President and Student Council President Together
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju University Daedongje Festival, which was halted due to COVID-19, will be held on the 27th and 28th.
According to Gwangju University on the 22nd, this year's Daedongje, themed "Heung-ioreum Festival," will feature various events including the "Chongcafe" operated by President Kim Dongjin and Student Council President Park Wonbin, a singing contest, invited singer performances, and club performances.
During the festival, side events such as experience booths reflecting the characteristics of Gwangju University's departments and food trucks offering various types of food will also be held from the morning.
On the first day of the festival, the 27th, the Daedong Singing Contest, a talent show for students, will kick off, followed by an invited performance by singer HyunA.
From 7 p.m. that day, at a special stage set up in the main gate parking lot, the "Chongcafe" will be operated, where President Kim Dongjin will personally listen to students' concerns, suggestions, and everyday conversations to communicate with them.
The proceeds from beverages produced and sold by students from the Department of Hotel Food and Beverage and the Department of Aviation Service at the "Chongcafe" are planned to be donated as typhoon damage recovery funds.
On the second day, club performances will take place along with performances by singer "Sole," girl group "IChillin," and hip-hop duo "Dynamic Duo." The festival will conclude with a DJ club party where attendees can dance to exciting music.

Student Council President Park Wonbin said, "I want to turn the festival, which was suspended due to COVID-19, into a place of communication and harmony to help relieve the accumulated stress of students," adding, "I hope it becomes a 'Heung-ioreum Festival' where local residents and all members of the school come together as one."
