Chicken Franchise Company CEO Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Embezzling 200 Million Won
Suspicion of Bribery by Supplier... Representative Denies Allegations
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The CEO of a famous chicken franchise company, accused of receiving bribes from a supplier, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the morning of the 20th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Jang Mo (44), the CEO of chicken franchise company A, to the prosecution on charges of breach of trust and bribery.
Jang is suspected of receiving regular bribes totaling around 200 million won from 2018 to 2020 after signing a contract with a packaging material manufacturer. The supplier is known to be operated by a junior from Jang's hometown.
The police have been conducting investigations, including raiding the headquarters of company A and the supplier in June.

During the police investigation, Jang's side denied the charges, stating that they had no acquaintance or interaction with any executives or employees of the supplier and were unaware of the connection.
