View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] LG Electronics will participate in 'Interspeech 2022,' held from the 18th to the 22nd at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, presenting papers related to AI voice processing. Interspeech is the world's largest academic conference in the field of speech processing, hosted by the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA). Leading global companies such as Google, Meta, and Amazon participate to share the latest technologies.
At this conference, LG Electronics will introduce a total of three papers related to personalized speech recognition. Two papers focus on 'user-defined wake word recognition,' which allows customers to register and recognize voice recognition wake words with their desired word combinations, such as "Hi LG!" Another paper covers customer-tailored speech recognition technology, including 'speaker identification,' which distinguishes the voice of the person speaking.
LG AI Research Institute and LG Uplus will operate an integrated LG booth. LG Electronics will showcase AI-based platforms applied to TVs, smart home appliances, and mobility, and demonstrate voice recognition functions applied to household appliances such as refrigerators and water purifiers. Last month, LG Electronics launched the 'PuriCare Objet Collection Water Purifier,' the first in Korea equipped with voice recognition functionality. The LG AI Research Institute will present the latest deep learning speech recognition technology E2E (End-To-End), where the super-large AI 'Exaone' creates marketing phrases with simple keyword input and converts voice to text without multiple transformation steps. LG Uplus will introduce AI technologies related to voice recognition, speaker recognition, and natural language processing for media content search and personalized services.
Kim Byunghoon, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LG Electronics, said, "Presenting papers at Interspeech, the world's largest academic conference, recognizes our AI technology competitiveness in the field of speech recognition," adding, "We will continue AI research and development to innovate customer experiences."
