View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The People Power Party is launching an investigation into allegations of corruption in the solar power business during the Moon Jae-in administration.
Park Jeong-ha, the chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, told reporters after the emergency committee meeting on the 19th, "We have formed a Special Committee for the Investigation of Solar Power Corruption, with Assemblyman Park Seong-jung appointed as the chairperson, and activities will begin today."
The solar power project was a major national agenda of the Moon Jae-in administration. Recently, the Prime Minister’s Office’s sample inspection uncovered 2,267 cases of illegal and improper practices. In response, President Yoon Seok-yeol also mentioned the possibility of 'judicial action,' stating that "the taxpayers' money was used in the corruption of interest cartels," indicating that the ruling party is also moving to uncover corruption.

The emergency committee also approved a plan to operate the ICT Media Promotion Special Support Committee for one more year by adding a Fairness and Portal Media Subcommittee to the existing Media Special Committee.
