Gyeonggi-do, 16 Small-Scale Industrial Group Catering Facilities Found with Poor Hygiene
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province conducted inspections on small-scale industrial group cafeterias and identified 16 locations with poor hygiene conditions.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that from July 18 to August 30, it inspected 1,678 small-scale industrial group cafeterias with 50 to fewer than 100 diners and found 16 violations of the Food Sanitation Act.
By type, there were 10 cases of not storing preserved food, 4 cases of storing expired products, 3 cases of not conducting health checks for workers, and 1 case of violating storage standards.
In the case of Group Cafeteria A, tofu skin that was 37 days past its expiration date was stored in a refrigerated warehouse without being marked for disposal, leading to the violation.
Group Cafeteria B was found to have violated the rule requiring that each serving of cooked and served food be stored at minus 18 degrees Celsius or below for more than 144 hours.
The province will impose administrative measures such as business suspension and fines on the violators and will re-inspect within six months to verify whether the violations have been corrected.
