RF Semi Signs MOU to Supply LED Lighting to Tajikistan
Participation in Urban Maintenance Project in Tajikistan... Supply of SKD-Type Lighting to Gaiyu Group
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Semiconductor device specialist RF Semi will supply LED lighting to Tajikistan's Gayu Group in a semi-knocked down (SKD) assembly form.
RF Semi announced on the 15th that it signed a contract to supply indoor and outdoor LED lighting by participating in an urban renewal project with the Gayu (GAYUR) Group.
Yaqba Masadulo, chairman of the Gayu Group, visited RF Semi's headquarters on the 12th, completed due diligence, and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the supply of indoor and outdoor LED lighting.
RF Semi will provide LED manufacturing technology and components, while the Gayu Group will invest capital. They plan to establish a manufacturing plant in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to participate in the government-led urban renewal project.
The urban renewal project is a five-year plan from this year until December 2028 to replace approximately 100,000 streetlights with LED lighting. RF Semi gained recognition for its technology last year by replacing lighting at Dushanbe Airport, Somoni Street, and Rudaki Street with LED lighting.
The products supplied by RF Semi are equipped with a self-developed AC direct-drive LED lighting driver IC. This efficient design replaces transformers and electrolytic capacitors, which cause failures in conventional LED lighting, minimizing components. Production process improvements have secured price competitiveness compared to existing products.
Lee Jin-hyo, CEO of RF Semi, said, "Our excellent LED lighting technology has been recognized," adding, "We plan to expand our business not only in Tajikistan but also to the LED lighting markets of four Central Asian countries."
