View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Jo Jeong-hoon, a member of the Transition Era party, repeatedly opposed the opposition party's proposal for a special investigation law regarding First Lady Kim Keon-hee, wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol, calling it a "tremendous misstep." He described it as "noise marketing and a political show aimed at creating a disturbance," adding, "I have never been invited nor agreed to participate, yet it seems my name, Jo Jeong-hoon, was written on the show's poster." He also stated, "Under no circumstances has the National Assembly ever fast-tracked a special investigation."
The Democratic Party has been considering designating the 'Kim Keon-hee Special Investigation Law' as a fast-track bill since the 7th to push it through. Out of 18 members of the Judiciary Committee, 11 consents are required, but the Democratic Party only has 10 members, making Jo the 'casting voter' who holds the deciding power. If Jo opposes, there is no other way. He has maintained his opposition to the special investigation law since the 8th.
On the 15th, in an interview with KBS radio program 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs,' Jo criticized, "'Kim Keon-hee Special Investigation Law' is a path without realism, which the Democratic Party is well aware of. Even if I agree and it passes the National Assembly, the President can exercise a veto."
Jo said, "I agree with uncovering the truth," but added, "I oppose the urgent special investigation pushed onto the Chuseok table without realism. The Democratic Party hastily collected 169 signatures to propose the bill before Chuseok to put the 'Kim Keon-hee Special Investigation Law' on the Chuseok table. This is a very rude act."

Jo criticized, "When the 'Complete Prosecution Reform' bill passed, opposition public opinion rose to 65%, but at that time, they did not talk about public opinion," and said, "Many Democratic Party members tell me that the people want it and ask me to take historical responsibility. This pushy attitude is a typical example of double standards and collectivism."
