Prime Minister Han to Attend Abe's State Funeral on 27th... "Meetings with Key Figures in Politics, Government, and Business"
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kim Hyewon] Prime Minister Han Duck-soo announced on the 15th that he will attend the state funeral of the late Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan, held in Tokyo on the 27th as the representative of the Korean government.
The government condolence delegation will be led by Prime Minister Han, with Jeong Jin-seok, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party (Vice Speaker of the National Assembly), serving as deputy head, accompanied by Ambassador Yoon Deok-min to Japan and Yoo Heung-soo, Chairman of the Korea-Japan Friendship Association Central Committee (former Ambassador to Japan).
Prime Minister Han plans to meet with key figures in Japanese politics, government, and business around the time of the state funeral, and will also hold a meeting with representatives of the Korean residents in Japan. The Prime Minister's Office stated, "The exact duration of Prime Minister Han's stay in Japan has not yet been finalized."

This will be Prime Minister Han's second overseas trip since his inauguration in May. In June, he attended the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) General Assembly held in Paris, France, to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo (Busan Expo).
