Typhoon Hinnamnor Floods 8,400 Vehicles in Pohang Bay... Could Increase to 10,000

There is a forecast that the number of flooded vehicles could increase to 10,000 once additional counts are completed.
According to Pohang City on the 14th, 8,485 flooded vehicles have been reported in Pohang since the 6th. In Pohang, many flooded vehicles are abandoned in various places, including those left by the seaside.
Because of this, the automobile-related industry expects that once the final reports and investigations are completed, the number of flooded vehicles in Pohang alone could increase to between 9,000 and 10,000. The General Insurance Association of Korea announced that as of the 7th, the number of flooded vehicle reports nationwide due to the typhoon was 6,762, with estimated damages amounting to 54.632 billion KRW.

Since there are many flooded vehicles, Pohang City and the Marine Corps have opened seven gathering sites for vehicle compensation, including the Comprehensive Sports Complex, Hyeongsan River Riverside, Marine Corps Shooting Range, and scrapyards. Out of 6,200 available parking spaces, 3,710 flooded vehicles have currently gathered. Each insurance company is conducting investigations related to compensation at these locations.
