KT Partners with Databricks for Big Data and AI Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT announced on the 14th that it has signed a strategic partnership with Databricks, a global data and artificial intelligence (AI) specialist company, at the KT Songpa Tower.
Based on the C&SI (Consulting & Service Integration) partnership with Databricks, KT plans to supply Databricks' solutions that can bridge infrastructure gaps to domestic companies. Furthermore, the collaboration will expand to all areas related to big data and AI business, including data engineering, machine learning and analytics, and business intelligence.
Databricks held a press conference last April to announce the establishment of its Korean branch and its entry into the Korean market. At that time, Ali Ghodsi, CEO of Databricks, declared that the Korean team would be doubled in size and investments increased to accelerate market entry. KT was chosen as a key partner in the Korean market entry strategy.
Databricks is a company invested in by big tech firms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and Google's CapitalG, providing data and AI solutions.
Choi Jun-gi, Head of KT AI/Big Data Business Division, said, “KT, which has the number one big data and AI capabilities in Korea, is collaborating with Databricks, which has the world’s No.1 infrastructure solutions. Through this collaboration, we will help customers in various industries attempt digital innovation based on big data and AI.”
