No Issues on the First Day of Voluntary Academic Achievement Evaluation... "National Achievement Assessment to be Conducted in November"
No Access Issues Reported on First Day of Self-Assessment
National Level Academic Achievement Test, Retake Scheduled for November
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education's first customized academic achievement self-assessment, conducted for schools that wished to participate, was held without any connection issues.
The Ministry of Education announced that the academic achievement self-assessment began on the 13th, and no reports of connection problems were received. The number of participating schools, classes, and students was not disclosed.
Since the 7th, the Ministry has been inspecting the network speeds and environments of schools conducting the self-assessment and plans to assign specialized personnel from the assessment institute to each participating school by the 16th.
The customized academic achievement self-assessment is an evaluation that diagnoses and provides feedback on the knowledge, competencies, and attitudes expected to be acquired by students through the curriculum. The first phase runs from the 13th until the 28th of next month, and the second phase from December 1st to March 31st of next year.
This test is conducted separately from the existing national-level academic achievement assessment, which samples 3% of 9th graders and 11th graders. From today, all 6th grade elementary, 9th grade middle, and 11th grade high school classes that wish to participate can apply and take the test. The evaluation is computer-based, using computers, laptops, or smart devices.
The scope of the assessment allows schools to select subject areas and survey sections. For subject areas, elementary and middle schools include Korean, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and English, while high schools include Korean, Mathematics, and English.
On the 7th, during the national-level academic achievement assessment, connection issues occurred from the first period, causing the test to be halted. The Ministry plans to conduct a retest in late November.

A Ministry of Education official stated, "The assessment canceled last week had its first-period questions exposed to students, so the sample group must be reselected and the questions redeveloped. Considering issues such as not disrupting individual school academic schedules, we are planning the retest for around late November."
