Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, emphasized at the floor strategy meeting held that day, "The ruling and opposition parties should not only engage in political strife but compete in good faith over livelihood issues and cooperate."
Floor leader Kwon said, "The Democratic Party of Korea should come forward as a true representative of the people’s livelihood instead of using fake public sentiment to shield Lee Jae-myung from criticism," adding, "During the four-day Chuseok holiday, the Democratic Party consistently showed its true colors as Lee Jae-myung’s personal faction."
He continued, "They went beyond relying on an outdated political retaliation frame and even hinted at the president’s impeachment," and questioned, "What is the reason for deliberately disrupting investigations and retaliation?" He also criticized, "If someone feels so wronged, would they respond with only five lines to a 20-page written inquiry?"
He further stated, "Party leader Lee Jae-myung is under suspicion for preferential treatment in the Daejang-dong and Baekhyeon-dong development projects, donations to Seongnam FC, and the payment of legal fees by Ssangbangwool," and asked, "The full-scale investigation into these criminal suspicions is still far off. Can this also be called political retaliation?"
Floor leader Kwon criticized, "If Lee Jae-myung is fined more than 1 million won for election law violations this time, not only will he lose his parliamentary seat, but the Democratic Party will also have to return 43.4 billion won in election reimbursement costs," calling it truly a ‘paedangmangsin (敗黨亡身)’ (a disgrace leading to the party’s ruin).
Seong Il-jong, chairman of the Policy Committee, said, "During the Chuseok holiday, we heard stern admonitions such as ‘Don’t fight in the National Assembly, but play a role that allows the people to breathe freely first,’" and added, "The National Assembly must put all its efforts into taking care of people’s livelihoods regardless of party lines."
Chairman Seong said, "The Democratic Party has only fulfilled half of its promise to normalize the real estate tax system, which was pledged during the presidential election," and warned, "The National Assembly must not become the main culprit of a tax bomb and administrative bomb on the people."
He added, "The People Power Party will take a more proactive stance in passing priority bills that can give hope to the people among the 100 major legislative tasks of the regular National Assembly session," and said, "In particular, to handle urgent livelihood issues, we will actively support passing bills that can revive livelihoods through the National Assembly’s Special Committee on Livelihood and Economic Stability, which operates with an October deadline."

He urged, "The Democratic Party should focus on people’s livelihoods, not political strife," and criticized, "The Democratic Party’s ‘Chuseok Public Sentiment Press Conference’ is nothing but a declaration to continue neglecting livelihoods and focusing solely on political conflict." He added, "Their obsession with protecting Lee Jae-myung and their faction while claiming ‘equality before the law’ as ‘oppression’ is a ‘deception of the people.’"
