T'way Air Introduces A330 Spare Engine... "Will Continue Investment and Efforts for Safe Operation"
Improvement of Aircraft Availability and Reliability
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] T'way Air announced on the 13th that it is strengthening its maintenance infrastructure for safe flight operations by introducing a spare engine for the A330 model and signing a total care contract.
T'way Air, which introduced three A330-300 aircraft in the first half of this year, recently brought one spare engine for the model into the country.
This is part of continuous investment and efforts to enhance the safe flight operation system and maintenance infrastructure, and it is expected to enable faster and more stable responses in the event of engine repairs and various maintenance situations in the future.
In addition, T'way Air signed a total care service contract in June with Rolls-Royce, a global engine manufacturer, for the Trent 700 engine installed on the A330 model, establishing an efficient engine operation and stable maintenance system. Through the introduction of this spare engine, it is expected to further improve the availability and reliability of the aircraft.
The Trent 700 engine by Rolls-Royce, which boasts the world's best technology in the aircraft engine field, is a representative engine that accounts for more than 60% of the A330 model's market share, including both passenger and cargo aircraft.
Meanwhile, T'way Air currently operates the A330 model on the Incheon-Singapore, Incheon-Bangkok, Incheon-Ulaanbaatar routes, as well as the Gimpo-Jeju route, and is actively conducting cargo transportation business utilizing the spacious aircraft belly space along with passenger transport.
