UK Ministry of Defence: Russia May Order Troop Withdrawal from Kharkiv
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] As the Ukrainian military has recaptured some villages in the fierce battle zone of Kharkiv against Russia, there are voices suggesting that the Russian military appears to have issued withdrawal orders in this area.
On the 12th (local time), the UK Ministry of Defence tweeted, "Russia may have ordered the withdrawal of troops from Kharkiv Oblast west of the Oskil River in response to Ukraine's counteroffensive."
It added, "Although some isolated areas still have resistance forces, since the 7th, Ukraine has reclaimed territory more than twice the size of Greater London."
Furthermore, "This achievement by Ukraine is likely to impact Russia's occupation plans," and "The trust in Russian troops deployed under the Russian military leadership is likely to deteriorate significantly," it stated.
