‘Choegang Baseball’ Dong-Eui University Player Yoon Junho Selected for U-23 National Baseball Team for 2nd Consecutive Year

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Yoon Junho, a senior in the Department of Physical Education and catcher for the Dong-Eui University baseball team, has been selected for the under-23 national baseball team.
Yoon Junho, who is representing the U-23 national team for the second consecutive year following last year, will participate in the 4th WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup held in Taipei, Taiwan, from October 14 to 23.
The Korea Baseball Softball Association recently finalized 24 players by position, prioritizing performance and condition among players active in the KBO League and college baseball. A total of five college players, including Yoon Junho, were selected.
Yoon Junho, captain of the Dong-Eui University baseball team, has recorded a career batting average of 0.307 and an OPS of 0.859 over his four years in college. He is regarded as a promising catcher with both defensive and offensive skills. He is also expected to be selected in the early rounds of the 2023 professional baseball rookie draft scheduled for the 15th.
Additionally, Yoon has gained popularity by appearing as a regular member on JTBC’s broadcast "Choegang Baseball," where his outstanding skills are recognized by professional baseball legends who also appear on the show.

The U-23 Baseball World Cup is an official tournament held every two years by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). The 3rd edition was postponed in 2020 due to COVID-19 and held last year in Mexico. The upcoming 4th tournament will feature 12 participating teams.
