Major Highway Congestion Eased... Seoul to Busan in 4 Hours 30 Minutes
Severe Traffic Congestion Expected in the Return Direction from the Night of the 11th to the Early Morning of the 12th

According to Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 10 PM on the 10th, the estimated travel times from major cities nationwide to Seoul Tollgate are: Busan 4 hours 30 minutes, Ulsan 4 hours 40 minutes, Daegu 4 hours, Gwangju 3 hours 20 minutes, Gangneung 2 hours 40 minutes, and Daejeon 1 hour 50 minutes.
The estimated travel times from Seoul Tollgate to each region are: Busan 4 hours 30 minutes, Ulsan 4 hours 10 minutes, Daegu 3 hours 30 minutes, Gwangju 3 hours 20 minutes, Gangneung 2 hours 40 minutes, and Daejeon 1 hour 30 minutes.
However, some sections are still experiencing stop-and-go traffic. As of 9 PM, on the Gyeongbu Expressway heading towards Seoul, traffic is slow over a 67 km stretch including Hwadeok Junction to Nami Junction (23 km), Cheongju to near Cheongju Rest Area (8 km), Cheonan to near Anseong Junction (26 km), near Anseong Junction to near Namsa (4 km), and near Yangjae to Banpo (6 km).
On the Seohaean Expressway heading towards Seoul, slow traffic is observed over a 36 km stretch including near Hongseong (2 km), Dangjin Junction to Seohae Bridge (23 km), near Seopyeongtaek Junction to Hwaseong Rest Area (7 km), and near Maesong Rest Area to Yongdam Tunnel (4 km).
On the Jungbu Expressway heading towards Hanam, congestion extends over 25 km including near Seocheongju (3 km), near Jeungpyeong to near Jincheon Tunnel (5 km), near Iljuk (5 km), and near Gyeonggi Gwangju Junction to near Jungbu 1 Tunnel (12 km).
The Expressway Corporation forecasts severe congestion in the return direction from the morning of the 11th, the day after Chuseok and the third day of the holiday, until early morning on the 12th.
Traffic congestion is expected to start around 9 to 10 AM on the 11th, peak around 4 to 5 PM, and ease by around 2 to 3 AM on the 12th.

In the outbound direction, traffic volume is expected to surge around 10 to 11 AM, with the worst congestion around 4 to 5 PM, easing by 8 to 9 PM.
